WHAT IS A GETSBY?

The Getsby is a Prepaid MasterCard® Gift Card that you can use worldwide (!) At all locations where MasterCard is accepted. Of those, 33 million are both online and in-store. In the Netherlands alone, there are currently more than 100,000 locations. Think of shops, restaurants, cinemas, amusement parks etc. This way you can make the most of this unique gift card!

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A GETSBY?

Benefits for the giver

  • As a Getsby giver you give a gift that is suitable for any occasion. In addition, a Getsby can be spent at many locations, so that the user always enjoys this gift card

Benefits for the recipient

  • A Getsby can be used at more than 35.9 million online and offline locations worldwide. In the Netherlands you can use a Getsby at more than 100,000 locations, including shops, restaurants, amusement parks, cinemas and much more.
  • A Getsby is convenient to use. When spending you only need to check MasterCard is accepted, and you can use your gift card.

HOW LONG IS MY GETSBY VALID?

A Getsby is valid until the “VALID THRU” on the front of the card. You should also use this date for online purchases. It should be noted that a Getsby is only valid unactivated until the expiry date. If you have activated your Getsby, it is valid for a maximum of one year (see date in the Card portal).

HOW CAN I ACTIVATE MY GETSBY?

Go to Activate card to activate the received card. Use the activation code that you received by email and the 16-digit number of the card. Before activation, read the Pricelist and Terms and Conditions for cardholders.

WHY DO I PAY ACTIVATION FEES?

Our gift cards work differently from all other gift cards. This means that we have no earnings on the value of the gift card like our colleagues and that we have to charge extra costs for using the gift card. The costs we charge are for the following points:

  1. Activation of your card account; 
  2. Costs for using the worldwide MasterCard network; 
  3. and a little margin so that we also earn something :)

WHAT ARE SERVICE FEES?

After activation, your Getsby Mastercard Gift Card is valid for 1 year. After the gift card has expired, a monthly service fee will be charged as long as the balance is sufficient. The service charges are not charged as long as your gift card not activated is.

Does the Getsby have a fixed value?

No, there are no set values. The Getsby MasterCard Gift Card can be charged with any value between € 10.00 - € 250.00.

WHAT IS THE BALANCE OF MY GETSBY?

The balance of your Getsby can be found in your online card account. Use the login details you received from us by email to access your account. If you have accidentally lost the login details, please feel free to Contact us.

CAN I CHARGE MY GETSBY?

Unfortunately this is not possible after receipt. A Getsby GiftCard can only be topped up once upon purchase.

MY GIFT CARD HAS EXPIRED BUT THERE IS STILL BALANCE ON THE CARD. WHAT NOW?

Legally speaking, there is no money end date, which is why we like to think along with you when your Getsby Gift Card has expired. With us you can transfer the balance to a new gift card. Costs will be charged when transferring an unused balance from an expired Getsby Gift Card to a new gift card. The administration costs for this handling are EUR 3.99.

The costs due will be deducted from the unused balance of the Getsby Gift Card. Requests for transfers or refunds must be made in writing or via our website.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO MAKE A PURCHASE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE VALUE OF MY GETSBY?

This is possible. Prior to your purchase, check the balance of your Getsby and ask the store employee to calculate this maximum amount when paying with your Getsby. You can pay the remaining amount with another payment method.

If you want to make a purchase online that is higher than the value of your Getsby, add your gift card to your PayPal account as a secondary payment method and then add the missing credit to your PayPal wallet. During the transaction you choose to first debit the balance of your wallet, then you select the gift card for the remaining amount of the payment. WHY IS MY ONLINE TRANSACTION NOT PROCESSED?

In the event that a transaction is not processed with an online purchase, this can be for various reasons. Below we have listed the possible reasons with the possible solution:

  • You have the expiration date entered which is visible in the CardPortal during the transaction - You must enter the expiry date stated on the card.
  • The name, address or zip code in the card account do not match the information you enter on the website where you are trying to use the card - Check that all information is correct
  • The total value of your purchase is higher than the balance on your gift card - Decrease the total amount to a maximum of the balance on your gift card
  • You have more than 24 hours € 250 spend with your gift card - Wait 24 hours for the limit to reset to zero
  • You have more than 24 hours 10 transactions done with your gift card - Wait 24 hours for the limit to reset to zero
  • Your gift card is not yet activated - Go through it activation process
  • You try to link your gift card to a subscription with a periodic charge - Pay the entire installment in one go
  • Your gift card is temporarily blocked - Please Contact our customer service
  • You try to take out a subscription with a monthly charge - Usually subscriptions may not be closed with a prepaid card as the balance is finite. If it is possible to pay the full subscription in advance, prepaid cards are (more often) accepted.
  • You try to transfer the balance to another payment solution such as Revolut, Monzo or bunq - This is not possible due to the restrictions from the issuing bank

WHERE CAN I SPEND MY GETSBY?

CAN I ALSO USE MY GETSBY ABROAD?

The Getsby MasterCard Gift Card can be used at 35.9 million locations worldwide. When spending outside the Euro zone, an Exchange Rate of 2.75% will be charged on the total purchase amount. We therefore advise to check in advance whether your balance is sufficient.

CAN I USE MY GETSBY FOR ONLINE PURCHASES?

When using online, you must use the 16-digit number on the front and the 3-digit CVC code on the back of the Getsby MasterCard Gift Card. If the Getsby is spent outside the Euro area, an Exchange Rate of 2.75% will be charged over the total purchase amount. We therefore advise to check in advance whether your balance is sufficient.

WHAT IS THE CARD VERIFICATION CODE? (CVC code)

The CVC code (Card Validation Code) is a 3-digit security code. It concerns the last 3 digits on the back of the Getsby MasterCard Gift Card in the signature field. This code is an additional security check that is requested for payments on the Internet by many merchants.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM ORDER SIZE?

The minimum number of Getsby MasterCard Gift Cards to be ordered is ten.

IS THERE A MAXIMUM ORDER SIZE?

No, no maximum has been set for the number of Getsby MasterCard Gift Cards ordered.

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT METHODS?

After placing an order, you will receive a digital invoice, which must be paid within 14 calendar days of the receipt date.

HOW LONG IS THE DELIVERY TIME?

The delivery time may vary depending on the order size. We aim for 4-5 working days after receipt of payment. 

CAN A PERSONAL MESSAGE BE ADDED TO A GETSBY?

Every Getsby MasterCard Gift Card comes with a greeting card that can be provided with a personal message.

CAN A BUSINESS LOGO BE PRINTED ON A GETSBY?

Currently it is not possible to place a company logo on a Getsby MasterCard Gift Card. However, it is possible to replace a standard greeting card with a personalized greeting card with a company logo on the front.
